Just like a little crab...

Cooper has been working on his pincer grasp a lot lately.  He loves using his little pincer to pick up his first finger foods, and ever so often he actually gets them to his mouth.  :)  Here's a shot of him where he is just so pleased with himself...

Grass is always greener....

On the other side of the Exersaucer  :)
He loves standing with support now....which includes being on the other side of one of his favorite toys.  He still hasn't gotten the hang of crawling forward, but if you're going somewhere and want to go in reverse Cooper is your man!

First Haircuts!

We finally had to do it....we broke down and got Cooper his first haircut.  Matt kept trying to convince me to do it at home, but no thanks!  I had visions of missing pieces of ear and a big ole bowl cut.  So we went to the salon and Matt held Cooper on his lap while I played photographer and gushing mommy.  Everyone thought he was just great....and he really did so well (for a almost 7 month old) sitting still and not fussing.   The gal cutting his hair was so good (fast and patient---with Cooper...and with me).  She gave us a card to commemorate his first haircut.  He really looks like a totally different child....she cut out all of the dark hair that was still left so now he doesn't look like a punk rocker with highlights.   Sorry about the finished product shot....the flash was on, but I couldn't get another nice shot because he was DONE with sitting still.  :)

It's official...

I am now...a mom.  No, make a correction to that....I'm a minivan mom.  After many trips with a very full car and no room for any bags or the stroller we decided to look for a minivan.  This is the one we settled on.  The really nice part....I'm actually paying less each month than I was for my SUV.  It's really, really nice!  Now we just need one of the kids to start playing soccer or something so I can be the soccer mom.  :)

The Half A Year Check-Up...

Well, Cooper's 6 month check-up was this past Friday and it's all good news.  When I was told that he is 23 lbs. and 28 3/4 inches long I guess the look of shock was enough to prompt our pediatrician to tell me "Don't worry.  He's perfectly proportioned."  He's as big as some one year old children I've seen.  Of course, I realized he's a big boy....but it's just more real when someone gives you the numbers to go along with the visual.

Cooper loves standing up with support, and he is sitting well now.  Army crawling is still his thing.  No creeping yet.  He loves music....and his toys that make music are his best friends.  He has quite a few fans at daycare.  The other day all of the little girls were dancing around him when I was dropping him off and they were actually chanting his name and singing "Go Cooper, Go Cooper".  He's a celebrity.  :)  And here I thought I was his biggest fan....looks like I have some competition.   So, anyhow....the only other things that are new:  he has two teeth that are coming in on top now to match the two on the bottom and he has learned that he can yell/scream.  It's not a mad or upset scream....it's just appears to be another way that he's talking to us.  On a sad note....it's appears that Daylight Savings Time is messing with the poor guy--he was fighting going to bed tonight.  Let's just hope he stays asleep.
