well, don't let this face fool you....we have had some fun times these last few weeks. We have traveled to KY and back to MD via OH. :) Lots of miles on the car, but we had great times with Papaw, Gigi, and lots of my family! And I know I have said it before, but there is a special place in heaven for the creator of the portable/in-car DVD player.
Welcome to our world! This little piece of the internet is about the adventures of our family which includes me (a working mom who loves to craft when possible), my husband (a working dad who travels a great deal), our three kids--a teenager, a preening pre-teen, and a handsome little preschooler. Oh, and our rotten golden doodle, Penny.

Maryland Zoo on Memorial Day '10
We were all home today because it's Memorial Day so we spent the day together at the Maryland Zoo. It was our first trip to the Maryland Zoo and Cooper's first trip to any zoo. He LOVED it! It's not a huge zoo, so we were only there for a few hours which was okay with us---because it was HOT! I think that boy said "Hi Birdie" to every single bird he saw---in cages, on trees, everywhere....which is funny since I am deathly afraid of birds. He loved the polar bear, birds, owls, fish, monkeys, elephants, and giraffes. We all were able to feed the giraffe a branch. I wasn't sure how close he would want to get to the giraffe, but he was so brave and fed her his branch and my branch. All in all---it was a great day. And the best part is---we got a membership so we can go back anytime. On another note---thanks to all of the members of the military and their families for all they have done and will do for our country. Happy Memorial Day!
Cooper waving hi to the snow owls.
Roaring at the polar bears....and the next one....well, that's just because he's so darn cute!
My two boys watching the penguins
This Lemur was so funny.....he was all laid back and relaxed. A rough life...
There were four adult elephants and then one "little" baby elephant.
The Chimps had been given "popsicles"....frozen blocks of ice with veggies and fruit in it.
"oooohh ooohhh, ahhhh ahhhha"
Cooper got a little "pick me up" from his two favorite guys on the way out. It's hilarious--- he will say "ready?!", then they count, and swing him.....he had the time of his life.
Look---only if you can ignore the messy counter behind the cute toddler!

The Candy House...

no, we aren't describing our house over the Easter holiday. My great-aunt is a nun, and she runs a candy house called Candy for Caring in Louisville. All the money they make goes to charity....and if you like chocolate that makes for a win-win situation. While we were in KY we made his first visit to the candy house where he was mobile and that I would let him taste the goods. :) He loved his visit (as evidenced by his chocolate lips---which weren't too bad since I think he hardly let any chocolate escape his mouth). Well, I would hate to overwhelm any of the Coop-fans out there....so I will wait to post any other pictures. :) I will leave on this note--- hardly a moment passes in any day where I don't think to myself "I am the luckiest woman on Earth to be blessed with such an incredible, sweet, funny, smart, and handsome baby boy. God is so good!".
We love Spring!

Cooper and I made a trip to KY around Easter which was my Spring Break while the big kids and Matt stayed around the house and had their own fun! The weather was absolutely beautiful the entire time we were there....the one storm was really short lived. For anyone who hasn't had the pleasure of meeting Cooper in person---he is ALL BOY. He loves the outdoors and isn't afraid of much of anything. He is also getting harder and harder to take a picture of because he doesn't stay in one spot for too long....he's always running! Cooper loved the pond and 'fishes'....and was fascinated with this colorful frog on a bike...
'mallows...

A certain someone....shares my love of marshmallows. Sure it's not the best thing to like, but it certainly can't be the worst thing out there either, right??? And since he loves 'mallows he naturally is a big fan of Peeps. On Easter we were in KY and there was a "community basket" on the table....I found him "pink handed" on a chair at the table with a beheaded Peep.
